turbo oil feed

Undersized. If there's too much oil flow it will just 'push' a little bit of oil through the bearings resulting in smokey exhaust. It's like running an engine rich vs running it lean. Rich is inefficient but you're unlikely to break anything (except maybe your plugs after a while, haha)

my mate is buying a blown one and rebuilding

in fact 2 ppl i know of are doing that lol

anyway the guy was asking me and i have no idea..

i gather from the above that its better to overfeed than underfeed..?

obviously not ideal but just if u didnt have the right size bolt and had option of either under or over, which one will be the go.....?

oh the turbo is a jurnal bearing unit...

whats the effect of that on the seals?

better to overfeed journal bearing....but not ball...would be inclined to find the correct sized one though...seal failure can occur if too much pressure is in either type of bearing.

ok each turbo has a specific feed as in oil volume that is specified by the manufacturer.

Over feed is just as bad as under too much creates excessive parasitic drag slowing response and over heating the bearings, again SEALS DO NOT JUST FAIL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU..........and the last bit.

Seals do NOT move or rotate, ok?

Seals are there to help any in balance between boost exhaust and oil pressure all being equal there's isn't an issue things like excessive crankcase pressure will cause leakage again the seals haven't failed.

Turbos don't have an issue with pressure volume they do thus why oil feed is very important so NO more is not best and pending bearing clearances and thrust design depicts the volume and that you dont guess at.

ps: if your mates are having a go at rebuilding turbos there's a good reason why i have a 40k balancer ....and keeping the alignment taking them apart isn't good enough at least not in my shop.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
