Steering wheel options.

I dont doubt that this has come up before but i did a quick search and couldn't find anything. I feel that my steering wheel is letting the interior of my car down most airbag wheels do (only nice one i've seen is s15 silvia).

Anyway i was wondering if there is any good looking wheels i could easily swap it out for and how to remove the wheel without setting the bag off? dont diss on the boost gauge ive changed all that out now haha.

could probably swap out a v5/6 momo airbag wheel... they are ok...

Meh probably they're better then what i have but still look huge and ugly imo...

you won't be able to change to a non airbag wheel as it's a safety device, unless you go fully caged with certs etc.....

tbh, the 96 sti didnt come with a airbag standard. You could probably just remove it and noone would be any the wiser, no? :-\

i've heard it was an optional extra.... *shrugs* if removed, the airbag system will fault and it will pop up with a little light on the dash

Eh, i dunno. Its not in the brochure for the v3 STi as far as I can see, so it wouldnt of been very well advertised, and its strange that in something as high up the range as an STi you wouldnt get a leather wheel (at least it doesnt look leather to me....)

read the interior part, since your car is more than 14 years old you can remove the air bag if you get a low volume cert

not sure if you can get away with swapping a v5/6 wheel as the airbag setup uses different sensors

yeah but how much would a lvv cost for that. and i was kind of hoping for a nice lookng airbag wheel haha
