Help car wont start. fixed thank you all

So 1997 bd5 auto, i am not at the car now so havnt pulled any codes off and wont be able to till tonight.

the car was fine when the wife parked it up, now the car will wind over about five times before stopping completely, with no attempt at even firing, turn key off and on again the car will do the same thing again. anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?

Does it have an alarm?

what codes is it throwing?

there are posts in CS about what sensors is requires for start up and whats ignored - id try to find those and compare with the codes your ecu is likely throwing.

also maybe your starter motor is dying? Needs bushes replacing.

brushes... if it works when you hit it with a hammer = normally brushes otherwise solenoids gone. that is if its a starter fault. noisy = bearings

Found the problem, was the fuel pump, and they not cheap when the only place that had one in Napier was at subaru, joys of owning these cars I suppose.

No one had one on the shelves in Napier everything was overnight with a extra cost added, have a mate that works in the parts department and as be said, for some unknown reason there was one on the shelve so got at a discounted price and wasn't much of a walbro in the end, and car was up and running last night and not later today.

The joy of owning any car. Just because its a subaru doesnt mean the fuel pumps going to go.

Ive had plenty of Subs and they only major mechanical issues have been a cracked radiator side tank and a blown turbo (my fault)

Less faults then the Hondas ive owned.
