V1-6 Complete Head weight for shipping?

I need to get a pair of heads shipped up from chch to northland and just need a weight for the shipping company. Google yields mixed results has anyone got a head with cams etc they can weigh for me if i say please?

10kg each? wild guess : but both wont be over the 25 kg limit of most couriers i reckon (pure speculation)

google speculation seems around 30pound each. unfortunately i need to be careful coz if it goes over the weight limit i get smoked double on freight.

25kg is normally local freight the further the distance the less size/weight and its inter island unfortunately.

Just under 14kgs each. two seprate boxes via tracked parcel post at post shop is the cheapest way. im a courier so i know.

we use fastway/nz couriers/pbt/mainfreight just who evers cheapest. it is going one end of nz to the other though so expense to be expected.

yea your city gets a lot meant for us too. some people shouldnt work in sorting depots thats for sure.

thanks man ill get it sorted now if i could get someone to drop it in for me i would but for the hassle the $10 saving wouldnt be worth it cheers

edit: also we ship a fair bit a year so the post shop probably wouldnt be the cheapest for me.

I concur. Have done engine blocks this way and it ends up being feck all.

Mainfrieght have quoted me $220 online according to seller but im thinking must be some cheaper?????

bout 75-100 for a boonet last time i tried from WLG-AKL.

so $220 is too steep imo. Best bet is to Ring flyway couriers directly and ask them over the phone - the rates are alot better that way.
