Gearbox problems

My gearbox is a bit notchy when cold and also sometimes randomly it just wont take a gear like the clutch is only half down. Its getting hard to distinguish 3rd from 5th when changing down too. Anyone have any ideas whats happening inside the box without pulling it apart? Oil looks fine and is topped up. The clutch is on its way out so Ill be doing it sometimes in the next 3 months anyway.

I dont know subaru gearboxes at all only that 5 speeds are notoriously bad but theyre the tightest Ive ever driven even in 200000km+ vehicles. I just replaced synchro springs in a GSR box but not sure if theyre anything alike inside. If anyones got a link to a v5/6 5 speed gearbox manual it would be mint I self teach...at least boxes are cheap for wrx's.

In my past experiance if u have teeth mising u def know about it. Been threw 6 boxes now lol. They all hav the same inners wrx and legacys try your clutch first then see if it makes a differance although while its out u myaswell crack her open check ya syncros and cones.

if ya having problems distingushing between 3rd and 5th id suggest doing selector bushes as well.

Ditto to this, and also soft/old/broken engine mounts will have an influence here too.
