Ecuflash problems

Ok so ive followed all the step you posted and yes romraider logger works now ;D

Ecuflash "read from ECU" is now in color!!

The jumper block that came with my tactrix cable is a little blue plug that has a looped wire at the end. I'm assuming it plugs into the white plug with two red wires going into it?

Open ecuflash and down the right hand side it has the task info an at the bottom it say error loading FTD2XX.DLL

Does this mean anything?

I tried to "read from ECU" an selected wrx sti non USDM 2001-2005 and it brings up the "turn ignition on screen" so I do and click ok.

then a error comes up

"an error occurred. See the log for details"

I click ok an it hasn't read the ECU obviously

try another usb port just to rule that out

(mine works only on particular port lol)

When it starts to read Hav the ign off and on 3rd line turn it on

Good to hear the logger is working as thats always fun to have a play with and you can't do any damage!

I can't exactly remember how to read the ecu because its been awhile since iv done it but I am pretty sure these are the steps,

1.have green plugs plugged together and jumper block plugged in.

2.have key off and have tactrix cable plugged in and ecuflash open

3.push read from ecu

4.make sure any immobilizer is off and turn the key all the way on (but don't crank the car!)

5. quickly push the ok button on ecuflash, if you hear the radiator fans start cycling you were too slow

If this doesn't work I can go out and read the rom from my car and get the exact steps but let me know

Since the read from ecu button is lit up this should indicate that ecuflash is recognizing the cable just fine and if you unplug it usually it grays itself out again.

what about posting the error log with ecuflash, not sure where it saves, try /program files(x86)*/openEcu/EcuFlash/

ive done the pulgs setup (greens connected and jumper block in) and it works perfectly!!! ;D

now i just need to be instructed on how to actually modify the launch control amonst other things...

I got into the whole reflashing thing back when I had a V8 Sti, and now just getting back into dabbling with it on my V9.

My advice is head over to the likes of romraider.com and openecu.com forums and research plenty about how it all works, before you dive in and change settings too much, etc. Removing speedcuts, applying launch control, etc is easy enough but tuning fuel/ignition/boost I wouldnt recommend without a good understanding of it all, and a wideband setup.

Once you get the hang of it it is relatively easy, can be time consuming though.
