Shipping large stuff to the states

Well, i've had one or two requests from NASIOC and the like to send some "mad tyte JDM" stuff over there, and i thought i'd take a cut to make some pocket money. And one of these things they want is the centre garnish from a BG. I've been looking for quotes and have so far found this:

Dimensions 135x20x20 CM, weight aprox 5kg's

NZ post, won't ship anything larger than a meter

DHL, wont ship anything over 117cm

UPS, quote... $500!

Air NZ Cargo, $320, needs to be picked up at the buyers nearest international airport

Surely it's possible to ship for cheaper than that, but i have no idea where to look. Does someone in the know want to tell me where to go for the odd, slightly oversized packages?

NZ post has been good for me, just shipped an ECU for $24, that's only like $14 us, they really don't mind paying that.

But only works for stuff less than a meter...

I once sent some STi GeNOME springs for $300 NZ... that was quite expensive, but again, the buying didn't mind.
