2004 Legacy 3.0R -broken rear swaybar mount

Hi Guys,

I was returning from the Carterton this weekend and coming over the Rimutaka\'s our 04 3.0R wagon starting making a hell of a banging noise from underneath the rear of the car.I initially thought it might be a muffler bracket however a quick look confirmed that that right hand side rear sway bar mount had snapped in two so it was a very careful trip home.

Now this mount is part of the undercar subframe so from what I can see you can\'t just unbolt it replace and bolt on the swaybar bracket+bar. It looks like a welding job and some form of reinforcement is needed. Has anyone had this happen to them? and want was the fix? I must say mounting bracket is pretty damn thin steel.

sounds like it is quite common, and there is a aftermarket bracket to strengthen that area

Can you/someone let me know what this aftermarket bracket is called and possible who has them? I will be talking to

my mechanic today so wold like to let him know.

i havent looked myself for the BP/ BL but check the whiteline catalogue.. they should have what you want

Ask Dave (dacerx) he had some made, or he may know the brand and unit that Boostin fitted to his

I tracked down a thread of dacerx with pics of blue 3.0 and the mods he was doing he had some brackets made by Gotasub?

so I will try and get in contact with him. i love my 3.0R but those rear brackets are piss poor.

Yeah man I had some made, since my cars done higher km it\'s worth doing and withthe upgraded bars it was a must for me. Talk to him they were cheaper than the ones boostin got and I found much easier to install.
