poor Radio reception in legacy

I know this problem has been discussed a few times - especially in other forums

I fitted a aftermarked panasonic unit and the Fm reception is crap.!

I read that there is fm amplifier which need power - This is supposed to be supplied by pin 14 on the connector - But my original connector doesn\'t have anything connecting to pin 14!

The original unit in my legacy was a kenwood unit - Was a bit weird as it had two connectors (male and female) for the antenna.

The antenna is a rear windows heater based one - goes into a small metal box (marked clarion (?amplifier)) and then at the front gives out a male and a female connector.

This unit which i thought was the booster doesn\'t have any power input - just the two inputs from the window and gives out two coaxial cables which eventually becomes a male and female connector

Anyone come across this problem? Is there another wire I should feed power to? Or is this the best reception I\'ll get?

thanks

when i did my BE i had to get a female to male extension. There was both male and female plug just down on the bottom left which I always thought was for the left and right antenna.. but anyway with the extension cord it fitted all the way up to the pioneer unit i put it (the original Macintosh unit had both a male and female cord that went down to join @ the plugs ... where as a jap radio just has a plug needing that little extra length) Ive never had poor reception ... touch wood ...

edit : read it : found you have this, sux to be you

haha, hey mine\'s not too bad, I used it once towing my car to the yard and home when I was doing the exhaust; worked fine with the pioneer HU I have, sweet reception.

Are you guys in Wellington by any chance?

I\'ve found the area to have the worst FM coverage - esp when driving along SH2 to Upper Hut, or near Horokiwi into town - almost no/weak signal. Classic Hits used to be the strongest signal back when they were on 90.0, but the switch to 90.1 seems to have dropped it slightly; hence why some stations have two freq\'s, from different transmitters to compensate for the hilly terrain

I think the Welli signal from Kaukau must be bounced towards the Cook Strait, as local guys can pickup Welli freq\'s from Blenheim.

Having been down south for the last month: Blenheim/Nelson/Canterbury offer excellent signal - being flat terrain helps a lot also.

Mines a Pioneer 6450BT with RDS in a BF5 legacy with a dodgy aerial.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
