Auto to manual conversion

Hey I\'m currently doing an auto to manual conversion on a 93 hx impreza and would like to knowif any one could tell me what to do with the wireing to get around the start in gear lock out switch and also reverse light?? Any help would be great thanks

Do you have an electrical wiring diagram for the car?

If you can get me that I can tell you what goes where.

There are 2 types of Park/Neutral switches. One type literally is in series with the starter solenoid circuit, in which case you just need to find the 2 wires going to/from the gearbox for this switch and join them together, effectively bypassing the switch.

The other type will typically ground out a relay and may be driven by the gear selector position switch, so you\'ll have to find that plug and ground out the wire coming from it (or go all the way back to the ECU/TCU, not sure which one these cars have) and ground it there.

As for reverse, this is probably done by grounding out a wire to activate a relay (or drive the lights directly) - you\'ll have to find the reverse sense wire, it\'ll be on the gear selector position plug from the old auto box, then presumably the manual box will also have, at the very least, a reverse position switch.

If you get really stuck, I\'m in Welly, I could have a look at it for a box of beers or something... but you really need to find the EWD.
