Stuck in 5th?

Found a few posts about popping out of 5th but Im stuck in 5th. Was cruising back from tune lazy shift from 4th to 5th then couldnt get the fucker to change down again. Drove 80km in 5th and made for some hairy corners when I hit town. Any ideas where to start? Clutch works fine. When you try change it just feels like you will bend the gearstick. Ive tried popping the clutch to try shock it/move shit and every angle under the sun but its locked in gear.

Now the bloody cars tuned i wouldnt mind being able to enjoy it... ???

Probably a bent selector fork, maybe to much load on the old girl, either way you will have to remove the box and take it apart let us know how you get on.. i gotta chase a possum now.. lol

Could still be the nut come loose and caused some trouble for the location pins, common problem that bloody nut.. but as said above gearbox will need to come out to diagnosis anyway, At least it wont cost you another box.. make sure you use the oe grey sealant when you close it back up

+1 mine did that (as well as popping out of fifth, not being able to select R at times) and it was the nut.

One thing that helped was not using the clutch and trying to put in gear, turn car on/off while trying to pull out of gear etc

Tryed getting it out of gear car off/on dumping clutch etc. Stuck in 5th. Just thinking I could probably pull the back off the box and check 5th if Im right its at the back of the box?

Gearbox out fix probably.You could try removing detents and then moving lever to free up. I doubt that the tuner would even entertain looking at it either.Usually a all care and no responsibility job when tuning, And he would not have used 5th to tune....Maybe as a road test after would be all.

Bent fork or broken one, or pin that secures it.

Wont be the 8mm bolt under the top cover.

Nothing to do with the tuner whatsoever I drove it 200km before this went pop and it was under no load just casually cruising.

center diff off the back of the gearbox while still in the car check to check the nut, if its not it then your half way to getting the gearbox out anyway
