Advice to choose lowering springs

rolex

Recommended Posts

Hi, I\'m wanting to get a set for lowering springs for my v7 sti but I\'m not sure which springs are good.

I\'m thinking of Eibach Federn and searched the web where all these people say go for H&R also dont know where to get them.

Any alternatives other than those?

Any suggestions would be good thanks.

are u just wanting to lower it

just get the ones that suit ur ride height i suppose...

if u wana do for performance, wud seriously recomend some coilovers..makes a wonderfull difference

on a side note, dont over lower it as makes handling worse..maybe 10-30mm max (based on feel)...

post a pic of ur ride

I notice alot of people seem to recomend coilovers over just springs (and shocks if it was me) for a street car, ive had coilovers in street cars before and they are horible far to stiff for the road, unless you are changing the springs to suit the street i think coilovers are over kill, The only advantage i see in coilovers is you can custom tune your height ect, but that is really only needed if your going to the track.

Wouldnt a decent set of springs and shocks with dampner control be far more suited to a street car, as you can pick the correct spring rate and dont need to worry about cert.

Mate those H&R springs people are telling you about are the ducks guts if you want lowering springs that actually perform. They are available from Platinum Wheels or Hyper but ya better off goin to Platinum top notch service round there I wish I went that way in the first place ,tried the Tein S tech springs wasnt impressed the fronts would compress to much and you could hear them knocking after those I went to Jamex not bad but the rear springs wouldnt stay captive and the handling was shoddy to say the least I finally went to the H&R\'s and never looked back

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
