Grinding noise when turning

Hi guys im hoping someone here can help with this issue im having. I have a 1996 wrx wagon. Its been lowered by the previous owner and i dont know what brand the springs are. Anyway about a week after i got the car i started noticing a metal on metal grinding noise in the left rear end. 99% of the time i t is fine . It only happens when i turn right very sharp at low speed and when travelling 80km+ even on a gradual bend. I dont know if it is the springs, the strut or the sway bar etc but i have jacked the car up multiple times and cant find anything wrong. It has passed 2 wofs like this and i even asked the inspector to take a quick look and he cant find anything wrong either.

rear wheel bearing issue when under cornering load the drum rubbs the backing plate when bearing is worn. Not always picked up by the wof man due to its assembly methods.

Can you hear a slight roaring of wheel bearigs whe sat in the back at 100k? ???

Also may not be noticable. However noise will change when bearings are replaced ;)

I figured it would have to be a wheel bearing. But if it is a bearing wouldnt the wheel have a bit of play because i have checked a few time now there no play there at all

Not always. My front left wheel bearing was so shagged that it collapsed and buggered the hub and there still wasn\'t noticeable play in it.

Centre diff can also cause noise when turning if it\'s poked.

So im gunna get the car up on the hoist pretty soon so the garage can see if it is the bearing. If it is what kinda price range do you guys think would sound right. i got quoted between $250 and 400 over the phone today

So i have had the car checked over and its not the bearing or the cv joint. Could possibly be the diff. Arghhh I dont wanna go down that road
