how much to paint a bonnet?

Hi Guys,

got my sons Impreza through WOF today. On to cosmetics now, but wont get carried away as it\'s never going o be worth much and as it\'s his first car, chances are it\'s liable to get wrecked at some point anyway.

I got a replacement bonnet for it, couldnt find a red one but have found a blue one.

Any recommendations for a cheap job ( not aerosol cheap )

cheers

Phil

youtube = good DIY vids on there to show you some cheap ways.

But for a cheap job for now. if you have access to a spray gun, compressor. heat gun sand paper etc

give it a quick sand down (wet sand) then apply a coat of primer and then spray it and some clear - would look decent imo untill you sort it properly

At your own risk as always.

Piggy backing on this thread, but also interested in a cheap/cash job to touch up my faded roof and where the monsoons used to be if anyone knows of someone in Auckland. Otherwise happy to supply beers and/or cash for a member with the right tools. Its the BG silver.

If your painting the roof won't need to blend.

Grant at gt Refinishers is the man id check with him on the roof

As for the bonnet if your not looking for perfection do it your self. And btw cans can give a good job if you use the right ones. Upol high 5 is a good high fill primer. And any good shop will make you up cans of the color and then you need clear. But it'll be like $80 for 2 x cans of primer. $60 for two cans of matched paint and $40 for 2 of clear. Ruff priced from when I worked at www.carcolors.co.nz

Awesome, thanks all. I'll see how my funds are next month and give GT finishers a call. I don't need anything flash though, just need the shine back rather than this oxidised flat silver (almost aluminium-ish) colour. Its no show car (unfortunately)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
