Drives terribly when cold- rsk b4 legacy 2000

So when i\'ve just started my car up and start driving (on low boost) my car is terrible to drive, lunges forward really badly when i try to accelerate. when the car is warm it runs sweet as, but when cold and i try to accelerate at it it\'s nearly bunny hopping kind of bad when i try put my foot down.

I understand obviously that you can\'t boost when it\'s cold but i\'ll literally be going like 30km/h and it will start doing this.

My thought was my air flow meter needs to be replaced, and other idea what problems it may be? cheers

shouldn\'t be giving it ANY boost until oil temp is at about 70 degrees, and fun boosty boosty from 80.

normally about 10-15 mins driving AFTER the water temp gauge reaches normal operating temp

is it throwing a CEL at all?

Mine tends to lunge / surge when it\'s cold a bit when it comes on boost even if it\'s only 1-3psi.

Normally I try keep all boost off it until it\'s warm and it will come right - likely the Temp Sensor as D-Style said.

Are these in the AFM\'s ?

You really need to get it scanned when cold to see what the output is, Or you can just replace the sensor and see if it fixes it, It\'s the one with 2 wires that is on the pipe that runs to the top radiator hose.

Hmmm my car sounds exactly the same as you when it\'s cold OP. A bit of a pain trying to get the car scanned when cold though.

Need to remove alternator to get at it easy. And the BE/BH are OEM subaru only part. think they were about $60.
