thought that intake box was a w2a intercooler for a sec there haha.

I may be wrong but i have heard the dohc 2.5s from that era were prone to headgasket failure, ie outback/lancaster

I sold my old BC7 2.2 Legacy at 356000 kms. We service a few with over 300000 on the clock. It all comes down to maintenance.

Dont buy an ex cop car they get hammered and not looked after. Sure regular servicing but they only do the essentials.

EG22's are a lot stronger than the EJ25 of that era from memory. NZ cops had legacy's back in the day? undercover im guessing?

I remember seeing one in hamner.

Actually if I had free cash I would buy it for it for historical value being that it is a actual ex police car. Pic up some lights, maybe give a good clean or repaint and get it restickered in the NZ police lively 8)

I would love a ex cop legacy. even tho its fitted with the 2.5.

I thought to myself I will go get one from police auction when they finished service. but never new when they retired them. mind you I was probly still at school.

Not sure on the subarus but the Holdens they run now have a "police" chip in them not sure what it gives but it is different

i had a manual v3000 mitsi cop car. it was so fukn fast. my old man called it the tyre fryer because you couldnt pull out of an intersection without spinning a wheel.

my mate had one of those v3000 ex cop cars back in the day too.. did 3rd gear burnouts haha. much more power than my sigma turbo

a mate had a holden ex cop car he picked up from some random auction up in nelson i think and it was hot.

His local garage could only figure out it had a different chip in it, but he reckoned it slew legacy turbos easy(this was a while ago obviously).
