Help car wont fire!! West AKL 92 BC5

hello im looking for somebody in the west auckland area to help me out... i just replaced the long block in my 92 bc5 r.s hooked everything back up , now i cant start the car with the key , cel code indicates its the starter switch or circuit. but then when i arc the starter motor it turns over, turns over and sounds like it really wants to start but just wont fire!! :-X shouldnt be any probs with injectors or coils. can anybody come over and help me out?? i have original block (closed deck) out of car and 2 and half inch str8 thru from turbo exhaust for anybody who can get it running

Checked you have fuel and spark? You have the excitor wire on the starter?

i have fuel and spark thats why i dont get it... and when that wire is on starter it still does not turn over from the key. :\'(

How did you check fuel and spark? What longblock did you put in? You use your manifold/sensors?

fuel lines are pumping fuel into the intake manifold i took the line off and gas pissed out... i took coil of a spark plug put another spark plug in and it sparked. i replaced all plugs with brand new before putting new block in. block is out of 99 forester , yes using all my original stuff on this block

Using your original heads on the block correct? Timings all perfect? Cam sensor and injector plugs didnt get swapped by accident?

no im using the whole forester long block , it was running fine in the forrester and had the cambelt changed 40xxx kms ago so that shouldnt be an issue(hopefully). i did have to put my old blocks cam sensor in this block. no injector plugs were touched

Did you just pull the manifold to the side with loom still attached? Also change that signature dude.

Check to see if you have 12v down the exciter wire to the starter motor to start with, If not work your way back making sure you have voltage to the ignition switch to the alarm (if you have one).

Double check basics Ie: fuel lines are the right way around, injectors are plugged in properly, coil pack(s) and ignitor are plugged in correctly, plus check cam and crank angle sensors as ECU needs this info to start engine.

You bolted the earths back on tight as well?

1. no I detached the loom from the manifold.

2. i dont have a power tester to check if that wire is getting 12v. atm.

3. all lines, plugs and sensors are checked and are fine.

4. all earths are bolted down tight.

5. dont think plugs are flooded as they are brand new but will check.

ANYBODY IN WEST AUCKLAND CAN COME HELP?? appreciate any input

Few pics of the engine bay maybe? Sounds so much like something unplugged but youve checked.

Does it turn over but not fire? I know on some models the injector plug and the cam angle sensor plug is the same. I made the mistake and used an injector plug on the cam angle sensor plug, it would turn over but not fire.

Also there are 2 different oil pump drive pulleys, they randomly change them, the only way to find out is to check to see if it\'s the same, You should be getting a CEL, if you have spark and fuel but it just not starting i\'d suspect Cam or Crank sensors.

the only cel\'s im getting is the ignition circuit and the cooland temp sensor which im planing on replacing because i broke. im using the sensors from my old block on this new block i\'v put in. mayb my old sensors are not compatible with this block???

If you dont have a working coolant temp sender theres a good chance thats it. The ecu uses it to run right when its cold.

yea could do they use water cam and crank sensors to start

dont wanna be a twat. but have you checked your ignitor is earthed and plugged up properly?

did you use the crank sprocket and cam pulley from your old engine or new engine? if you are using the new ones than fit the cam pulley and crank sprocket from the old engine. the pickup from the crank and cam might not be compatible with the ecu, hence wrong signal from pickup to ecu and firing at a wrong time. thats why its throwing ignition codes.

that sounds like what it must be \'coz yeah im using the entire new block nothing changed except spark plugs..
