EBC playing up??

Hey guys, ebc is playing up, reading vac when engine is turned off, readings jumping around all over the place...

I know a mate one played up and was a bad controller unit which was swapped under warranty Nd worked ok after that... Not see vid Yet as on ph atm

Worth checking all your vacume lines that run off the ebc

Had the same issue on my mates car,turned out to be a kink in the vac line causing it to read vac still,my guess was the air was caught in there,replaced the hose and its fine now

yea man +1 on checking hoses..maybe take the manifold reading on same place as the boost gauge (nice install by the way!)

also clean the solenoids perhaps (does it have filters in the vac lines?

No filters, its reading from different places in the vac lines so i\'ll try cleaning them out and go from there. Checked the lines last night, no kinks.

Stuff breaks sometimes I guess

I saw a gizzmo IBC do the same thing, was just the map sensor in it went bung somehow (contaminated? pass) - luckily you have a warranty so you\'ll be fine

More out of curiosity than anything - why don\'t you do boost control through the ECU? Seems like you\'ve got the patience to set it up good & get it just right

Cant find the hose i removed when converting while i was settiny up the fueling maps. Sooo, no tee\'s or restrictor pill until i find it lol

found hose, will tinker with a few maps this evening, restore ecu control over the turbo and sneaky reflash during one of my breaks at work tomorrow

Have a look at the map I gave u I\'m pretty sure I had a aggressive stock controll setup on it

Wooooow stock control is average... lol. Think the boost may be cetting around the edges of the restrictor pill. Breaking out the cable ties to sort it out. Ebc is being replaced under warranty :-) so it\'ll be going back in asap

I\'ll be honest I\'m confused

Its a solenoid being pulsed on or off - how can one be better than the other?

Is it being run as a tee-d off bleed with factory (so letting WG creep open) and as a 3 port (no signal to WG if closed) with the EBC?

That would explain the difference at least

2 port setup for both, but factory doesnt reference duty cycle vs actual boost and adjust (closed loop) to hit a desired peak

That all has to be programmed into the ecu tables. It\'s a long process. Ebc, you set and forget (within reason) and it\'ll hit that boost target every time, regardless of engine loading etc.

Ok so, found out why it was slugish. Boost was going AROUND the restrictor pill. Soo, used one of my spare spring clamps, forced it up the line and around the restrictor pill, and wahoo!!! Damn it pulls... been too iffy about giving it boot since the issues with the ebc started, but back on the ecu control and damn it\'s agressive. Get some awesome backfires between gears too, nedd to sort that out :-S

Regarding ebc, it\'s being replaced under warranty with a (new) revision 2 unit, so i get to set it all up again yay....

Did a little bit, could be the muuuuch more agressive tune i\'m running atm. I love it, it\'s freaking sweet.
