AnwY they work fine if u set them up correctly

Prone to some slight overboost in cold temp

I had thT issue so simply set it up on a cold night and that way that was the maximum

It made less boost in the summer

if u Wana get something like that just get a hallman pro as it controlls better than that one and is more consistant and costs less

So basically from that write up a cheap ebc will not use a solenoid to control boost.

Does that mean with a closed boost system u would have to use an external wastegate or is it still fine with a internal?

The unit I had had 1 knob which changed boost. No gain on it at all so gate still started opening at half pressure. No different to one of the boost tap with spring and ball in it in my mind. You set the boost level period. Cant turn a tap off though.

the scarles one doesnt reference manifold pressure (actual boost) against a preset level... (closed loop)

the manual controller and the scarles ebc are effectively like the 1.5 and 2.0 non turb impreza.

both do the job, ones a flashier more expensive version, just not as good as the sti...

(sti being $$$$ controler with closed loop referencing)

just as a comparative.

the closed loop controlers will allow you to preset a duty cycle, how rapidly it comes on boost, how sensitive the controler is to boost fluctuations... set a boost level as target, and it\'ll do its best to maintain that preset boost level come hell or high water.

Well thats what it says but like I said I raised boost with it but doesnt hold gate shut like closed loop does. It says it uses closed loop to stop fluctuations after level is reached?

Yeah the regulating of spikes is in the preset gain settings, either way the unit I had worked great and boost onset was better than a boost tap or stock solenoid.

If you ask me not a huge waste of money if the car doesn\'t need a big flash ebc?

$200 is a waste of money when a marky tap will do the same job or when you can get a decent secondhand ebc that will really work well for $200. This isnt just coz scarles are shit either lol. Mine was no better than a tap.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
