hmm, looks very interesting... it\'s just a cable with some windows software... I wonder if you have access to tuning maps etc or just diagnostics.

Is a rip off is what it is, Its just a VAG-COM cable and a CD with Free SSM loaded on it.

The Vag-com cable can be bought on ebay for less than $10 and Free SSM is just that Free. Just google Free SSM and a download link will be there somewhere. The software itself is actually quite good i use it regularly.

Thanks for the info, TM is full of stuff like that - same things on ebay are way cheaper and with free shipping.

Would any of those ebay cables work fine, even a $8 delivered one?

BH5D here, already knew it was reflashable, not too sure if I have enough guts to do one though - a bit more serious than flashing a phone with a custom ROM

best way to get up the bravery to do it is to read and log, copy the image off etc, have a play with them, and a lot of reading. ecu reflashing isn\'t too bad tbh.

ok so reflashing v7 era, re reading my library of s**t, any old vag com will work to log.

if you want to reflash, you may have to do this to correct a voltage issure that can sometimes pop up

basically a jumper between pin 11 and 16

also depends on the chip inside the cable, there are a few knock off chips cruising around that can cause a real headache, but can be forced to work with some jumpers and a steady soldering iron
