Need a GPS for driving, must be CHEAP

Anyone know of a decent basic GPS unit for driving.

Just want something basic and cheap that I can use for navigating around christchurch and if I could put in multiple locations as way points that would be great too.

Something with voice prompts too, (maybe they all have this I dunno)

You know the sort of thing "turn left in 100 meters etc etc"

Google maps on cell + car cradle = done haha. It\'s all I\'ve ever needed anyway

Pretty much any GPS you can buy has those features (apart from multiple waypoints?) - just keep an eye out for whatever repco / harvey normans etc have on special or whatever

Updates is where you sink money unless theyre free. We got an older navman and it took us for a 50min detour round industrial auck coming back from meremere coz we nipped off the motorway to pick something up and followed the dipshit electronic to get us back on.

Tomtom were the biz few years ago who knows now the way electronics change overnight.

any "smartphone" with google maps installed, even if you go onto trademe and buy a half decent android device and run it with no sim, as long as you do your NAV search within wifi it should download the required maps( only downside really of them as they prefer a data connection)

Actually go buy this Garmin Asus A10, I have one of these as my back up phone it has NZ maps installed and is one of the best nav devices I have ever used, does not need a data connection BUT with one makes it even better

we have owned all the reputable brands:

tom tom was irritatingly annoying to use,

navman took you on fucked up detours at random times,

garmin has been most reliable

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
