New car which has a rebuilt motor. Just a few questions.

Hey there,

So i bought a new car which had a full rebuild about a year ago. Came with the invoices etc.

car is running lower than standard boost. 10psi rather than the factory 14.5psi. It\'s a v4 sti ra.

I\'m assuming the lower boost is set for the "running in" period.

What i want to know is...

What method do most places use to turn the boost down as i don\'t see any boost controllers anywhere and the turbo/wastegate seems to be untouched.

yet to check if the boost pill has been swapped.

any ideas guys?

Is the wastegate hooked directly to the turbo or is it still running through the solenoid? I found with no restrictor pill in mine it will run ~10psi or a bit under

Hey so atm im guessing your running wastegate pressure.

Which would be a single vacume line running from the compressor housing on the turbo to the actuater

This will only allow you to run 8-10psi depending on mods/weather

To run stock boost you need to tee between the vacum line .the other hose will come from the factory boost soleniod and tee in to it.make sure you have your restricter pill in the correct line on the vacume hose otherwise it wont work.

this. should also be a paint mark on the line where the restrictor is.

Check for codes and make sure CEL is operating correctly also.
