What wastegate is this? And where could I get another spring for it?

Looks like a Trust/Greddy or replica. Have only seen Japanese companies use 4 bolt style flange.

kinda looks like an old trust one to me .

u could take the spring to japrace ( insert ur local performance parts shop here) and compare it to some suitable ones

or just jam any old spring in it and pump it up with a bike pump with a boost gauge T ed in and see if its near whet ur hoping for

Thanks for the options I\'ve been informed by the previous owner it is a Tial wastegate

I had an hks one which looked similar (or trust? Its something japanese anyway)

As said the brand of spring doesnt matter if it fits it fits

I had an early hks one back in the day kind of simalar but this is an old trust wastegate

Thanks for that. I just did a google search and yup it\'s identical to a trust.

Can these be adjusted at all? I\'m running it on an old bc5 rs legacy and I\'m hitting boost cat at 1bar with this wastegate. I have a ecu to install but I\'m not quite ready for that yet so was looking for quick fixes

Yep, get a smaller spring

Or try winding back that nut on top... I think some of them may have had some wiggle room

there is a ebc hooked up to it ??

for a temporary fix u could take the line off the top and put it on the bottom one . block spare line and leave spare nipple open

just dont foot flat it ?

Run the hose from pressure to the bottom port directly

You will now have spring pressure only

Then try undoing that top screw, like I said im pretty sure they have preload on them, that should let you drop a few psi if needed

Super simple stuff

If you are hitting boost cut already you dont need the boost controller there just now

Wait.... right now what you have is pressure going to the top port, holding it shut. Then you are adding nothing to the bottom, so its not even trying to open, no wonder the boost skyrockets

I have the boost controller set to the absolute lowest settings but it still hits cut.

Me to! First time in 2 weeks haha. I\'m a little new to this whole modding scene so forgive the questions but I pretty much don\'t understand how it works. I just follow the instructions down to the letter and it usually works. In this case I followed the instructions on the GFB boost controller regarding setup. I will try unloading that screw if it\'s tight (fingers crossed) at 4-5k RPM it just goes nuts and hits cut.

i just got a 14psi wastegate spring for my turbosmart one was $15 from total performance he gave me a tial one but i went and swapped it for a turbosmart one but they did look the same but meh.

Got one sorted now. From a turbosmart apparently. Could have probably gotten cheaper from elsewhere but was kinda in a desperate rush to get car sorted... Then it decides to torrential downpour in CHCH and I gotta wait until tomorrow now.
