Just spoken to Gavin from HPE Automotive Services in Sydnemham Christchurch, regarding Cleaning and Machining my EJ208 Open Deck Block. Re-Boring the Cylinders and Semi Closing the Open Deck Block.

Prices are GST exclusive (gst not included). All parts Acid Washed, Machined, Cleaned and Wrapped.

EJ20 Block Re-Bore - $235.00

Open Deck Pinning to Semi Close Deck - $240.00

Crank Shaft Mount and Measure - $100.00

Crank Shaft Grind/Balance - $235.00

Return Freight of a Bare Block (Chch-Greymouth), quoted at a Max of $90 plus GST.

Yep Gavin hpe is the man.

TBH your better off buying a CDB machine out for rear thrust and buying a brand new late model cross drilled crank with standard bearings.

Your prices don\'t include decking of block or heads skimmed which adds about another 250.

Pretty sure the Re-Bore Quote included Block Decking, I\'ll have to double check. Will be getting my Heads Pressure Tested and Skimmed next week.

I would use a closed deck also.

if you paying to get a semi closed pinned then it will be a similar cost for rear thrust conversion.

also what hijacka said for around twice the cost of the crank machining you could get a new one (is it suspect)

Has anyone brought a new OEM Crank Shaft?

Ebay for the crank and bearings.. cost will be about $450-500 crank and 220 for mains and beb acl race series.

Doubt the cost of rebore was including skimming deck as well I\'ve recently paid 250 for skimming heads and deck and thats with me cleaning up.

Yeah it all adds up doesn\'t it :.. Thats why most go a new 207 shorty from subaru thats good to go;)

I bet subaru will quote you about 1000 on a crank lol.
