needing some advice on test mode

Hi guys. Recently my boost went from normal to almost zero then upon accelerating now i get hesitation and stuttering. it now throws code 66 in second gear and no boost. still drives if i feather the throttle tho. the nite previous to this im sure i heard a pressurized sound coming from the primary turbo side. i have twin bd5 legacy rs. in test mode where i\'d see the iacv and ecv rods moving they dont at all now. also i had oil leaking from the inside of the exhaust running to tip then dripping out.

im wondering would a blown turbo seal cause this or hoses under tmic? cheers

Fault code 66 - Twin turbo system, Normally a BBOD problem.

If your ECV and IACV aren\'t doing anything in diagnostic/D-mode, then you must have no vacuum in the BBOD.

Hose #12 from front/centre manifold, is the vac feed for the bbod and vac tank. Hose #12 goes through the BBOD then comes out the bottom, connected to the vac tank hose.

If this vac hose comes off under the BBOD, the vac tank bleeds out, (pressure noise). Plus you will have a big boost/vac leak from the manifold.

How bad is the oil out the exhaust? Could be years of blow by build up, might be time to clean out your tmic and run a can of upper cylinder cleaner?

  • 2 weeks later...

thank you guys taking it to a guy Monday to do a boost leak test on it. it would of had buildup blowby as the damn thing was overfilled almost 1 quarter above the f mark. I didn't realise this wen I took to get oil changed rather than do it myself. im kinda pissed off with the garage that did this but I shuda checked my dipstick would've been about 2 weeks of being over the f mark. whats the worse case scenario for a blowby buildup guys?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
