GF8 anchor points kids seat

Currently in the wagon we have the babyseat anchor point in the middle of the boot underneath the boot latch. However behind a piece of the interior paneling there looks to be another anchor point off to the side. (see pics)

Is this a valid anchor point? I would rather attach the seat off to the side rather than in the middle.

Yeah the threaded holes in the bottom picture are on the side behind where a child seat would be. When I bought the car it already had the anchor mounted on the middle and never moved it.

Just want to make sure this is ok to bolt an anchor point too.

I'd say it would be strong enough for intended use.

Might pay to refer to the manual on your car seat also to make sure it can be anchored in that way.

I know my one is only supposed to be anchored directly behind the seat and not offset.

My old BG5 legacy was so much better... The anchor points were on the roof by the hatch hinges, made life and boot access so easy.

Which law is that breaking? We've had three seats in the back of our Legacy for nearly three years. They never come out. One of them is obviously in the middle ...

Middle is the safest place to have a car seat. Plus any decent car seat for babies, the seatbelts go across the bottom part of the seat to stop it moving forwards whilst the tether strap at the top stops any other movement. So it doesn't really matter if you use a lapbelt or normal belt.

It only becomes an issue in cheap seats and one's without tether straps.
