Oil Filter Z495 or Z436

recently i purchased a wrx sti v6, its got xforce headers due that i cant put z495 in because its making contact but z436 fits fine (thread size and seals size are the same). i heard fitting wrong filter can cause damage to the motor when boosting. if anyone experienced this problem please help me out.

Z436 will be fine. Filters are pretty dumb really.

a worker at repco told me z436 doesnt have anti drain valve that can cause damage but in my head i was think wtf you only need a anti drain vavle if your filter is on top of the motor like euro cars bmw,vw etc...

Just look in the top of filter its easy to check. But yep no issue.

Pretty much this. Sure, it'll drain... straight back into the filter...

AFAIK Z436 instead of Z495 is no problemo, meanwhile Z495 tends to not fit on Subies that spec Z436 because the outer casing is much wider.

At least this just gives you a reason to do a oil cooler and oil filter relocation >.> haha
