I will admit I really do like how sleepy and unassuming the 3L's look, while still having the ability to seriously hooof

And yes definitely go facelift. The 6spd manual is way tighter and just 100x more comfortable.

I like the scoop though that you get with turbos, no scoop just doesn't seem as cool to me. then again you don't want to be a poser with scoop and no turbo.

Im in the same boat as the OP. Just sold my V8 Commodore Sedan. I want a wagon and it seems that the facelift BP5 is the way to go. Have been tossing up if the Bspec over the GT is worth the extra money. In most cases its quite a lot more. I love the idea of the 6speed but even then i prefer the GT front end over the BSpec. So ill probably go for the GT.

I noticed someone say about getting the ecu remotely flashed. Whats the deal with that? How much extra power would you expect?

Ah true so its not like the dirty commodores where their tunes are gimped from factory haha. Ill probably get the exhaust done, just as long as i can find one i like the sound of. Anyone tried out the Xforce? I had Xforce on my Commodore.

They definately are gimped from the factory but the gains are still limited. It should drive much better but that doesn't quite translate into a big chunk of extra power. Without freeing up the exhaust a fair bit. Need to take note of whether its a 2.5L or 2L as they have different turbo setups so use different downpipes.

Yea it will definitely be a 2L ill be getting. Redline performance say the exhaust is for a 2L even though the exhaust was designed for the 2.5L Aussie Liberty. Won't be surprised if some modification will be needed. Had to with my xforce on the commodore too.

Catbacks are identical between the two, only difference is that wagon mufflers are typically longer. Its the downpipes that are different. Xforce don't make a downpipe for the 2L so would be a fair bit of hacking up to make it all work. Completelty differnent downpipe flange

If you are after an e-tune you will need to get hold of a Tactrix cable. Either buy one from http://www.tactrix.com or see if anyone on the forum in Christchurch is willing to lend you one. I'm happy to help with that if you are in Auckland.

Then you need to pick a tuner. I have only dealt with 2 of them. One is Matt Mcleod who is, in my opinion a bit of a Subaru genius, he is one of the few than can actually still write ECU definitions if your ECU definition has not been published. BUT he can be a bit hard to get hold of at times. Either message throttlehappy on this forum or KiDo_Tuning on the Aus Liberty forum. He is based out of Coffs Harbour in Aus. $400 for the tune. The bonus is free re-tunes for the life of the car if you make any mods etc. The other is Dave from Cryotune, he seems to be pretty good for the turbo cars, he tuned a 2007 auto GT for a mate of mine and it's pretty bloody fast. Not so great with NA cars though. He's got a bit of a website http://www.cryotuneperformance.com/ETuning.php and he is a bit cheaper but I think he charges for updates if you mod your car.

I'm sure there are a lot more of these around.

I think if you get a Subaru, you NEED to do this. I am so much happier with my car because if having it tuned.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
