intake mani v7

Hey guys anyone know how much I can spacer my v7 intake manifold without it hitting my bonnet it's a v6 sti gf8. Cheers

Could stand some playdough towers on the manifold and slowly close the bonnet.

Yes running fmic.

Usually it's the bend from throttle body that touches because of the angle..I have no experience with V7 but see no one else has any comments.. I know you can't really go anymore than 10 mm with a v4 manifold I would imagine it would be a similar situation with the V7 mani. Would be best if you trial and error it yourself with the bend coming off the throttle body

Yea that's Wat I have been experience hoe it is at the moment.i might try putting some packers under there and see if there's any room at all. Don't want to buy some spacers and find they aren't gonna work because they aren't cheap lol. Anther thing ive thought about is Would I be better off cutting and welding the centre of the mani?

Yeah its a trial and error thing.. gaskets would account for 1-2 mm. If you get o ring'D spacers you won't have to worry about gaskets

Just looking at one in garage now yeah I probably wouldn't bother the icv sits high.. I wouldnt imagine heat soak to be to much of a problem like with that mani seein it has tumblers and gaskets between

Haha no thanks never gonna take ac out lol had enough cars without it. Specially up north need ac.

Nice to see a Gf getting love! Hmm you sort of need to ditch the ac.. it's not like where in australia where you need it. If your going to keep it though might be less head ache not flipping the manifold and run extra piping.. it's Gona lag with a big snail on it ne way. Never seen a flipped mani running ac but there is always first time for everything lol

Always give it love lol. Well ill have a fiddle around tonite and see What is going to work. I've seen this pic but not sure if will work on mine.

If you put lumps of playdough on the high points of the manifold, then close and open the bonnet. You can measure how much the playdough gets squished and know exactly how much clearance you have to play with.

The yanks seem to run a/c with flipped manifolds all the time, a bit strange we can't seem to make it work here in NZ

Marc knows read back in his posts but applies to v8 sti. You need spacers and run it like that pic. 10 or 12mm iirc.

Would live aircon tbh. But turbo spool is preferred.

Juzt tested it and 12mm should easily fit. Yup ill run same as the pic and lose a fan. If I run like that pic won't make much difference to spool anyway right?

Wont effect spool. Was saying who gives f about ac when on boost.
