There have been a bit of a discussion about mechanical warranties over the last few days so I thought it would be useful to find out what companies are out there, how many of us have warranties and who they are with.

If you're feeling really keen, a comment about how you've found them come claim time would be extremely useful too.

And if I've missed a company from the list, lemme know and I'll see if I can add it as an option.

Had few over the years: Protecta, Autosure and lumley.

Protecta did a gearbox rebuild on my Mazda GT-R no worries

Never used my Autosure one

Lumley I had to threaten Legal action about getting them to pay out, and even then they only give me $2500 to do an engine replacement. Got shafted to be honest. Any company that takes 6months and goes looking over your car to find reasons not to pay out, isnt rated in my books.

But I was in the middle of moving to aussie, so just paid it myself and told them to get bent.

mate got shafted i think, duna who hes with but ill find out, needed clutch for his evo5,they wont cover him even tho hes payed the 1600 for 3year cover, aparntly they were sending a guy 2 check the clutch once it was out 2 check how it was buggered, pointless having it if they are guna piss around

used to have autosure on my car but has expired, got numerous things done in the 2 years including clutch, although one thing they declined was worn syncros i had to pay for that, but they said if they stopped working altogether they would pay for it, thats the only problem i had with them but fair enough.

cost me $1500 for the 2 year cover, which had a $10,000 limit per claim and unlimited claims and no excess, and i would of claimed $3000 worth easy. well worth it in my opinion if you like to 'drive' your car.

it does give you a bit of peace of mind.

im pretty sure a clutch is one of the things that isnt covered. its like covering a kid from getting fat when he sits and eats cup cakes all day. the outcome is inevitable

they should cover it if it fails completely, but will not claim a worn one. thats how mine worked anyway, they paid out for clutch as my mechanic told them it was fully stuffed and they were also the accessor for autosure so yea... lol.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
