It's also pretty spot on, Worn Clutch Disc = higher engagement point.

You will be very happy once you get a new clutch that takes up in the right place, You find 1st easier to get into (and should you get to this point) you have no slippage!

I just had mine done. Cost $1k But that included some platic cover and nuts that apparantly have a habit of leaking. Regardless, Money well spenT!

Subaru NZ has had 3 prices rise's lately

Genuine Sti clutch for V4 is now just under $900 inc retail (parts only !!)

Priced a full engine gasket set / main and big end bearings for a job $1850 inc retail

WTF are they on ? Wonder if they sell whatever they are on :)

Maybe they should just out the letter P at the end of a part# so that we know whether we are funding their habbit buy buying that part !!

Clutch replacement isn't cheap when done through a garage. The cheapest quote I've had is $900, the clutch kit costs $580 which means if it takes them 5 hours to replace the clutch you are paying the mechanic close to $100 per hour for labour!

5 hours is a bit generous (except for a twin turbo i guess). and $100 an hour means im DEFINATELY in the wrong job

Wrong end of the calculator !!

900 -580 =320

320 / 5 = 64 per hour So about $57 per hour plus gst = VERY CHEAP

What about the $40 flywheel skim

What about gearbox oil?

Think maybe your B*tching about being cut a good deal !!!

Also at that price it NOT a Subaru clutch either, so best of luck with anything aftermarket !

$57 per hour is still generous considering most "average Joes" earn about $21-$22 per hour. IF mechanics are earning $57 per hour then good on 'em. I just need to save some dough to get me some good axel stands, a jack and decent tools and I'll be able to then save myself $57 per hour, even if it does take longer to complete the job.

Yikes! I won't be complaining from now on. Still, to have the equipment and the know-how to do it yourself would be nice....maybe one day I'll get there.

a subaru clutch is one of the easyest to do ... roll pins for the front axles drop ball joints driveshaft off.. there is so much room its not funny.the pull type clutch mechanism is the thing that people trip up on...

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
