06 3.0R JDM - Issues saving the ECU Image

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I am trying to use the ecuflash app and the tactrix cable to save what i assume is a factory ecu image but i get an error when it tries to save it.

The download stops with an error right after sending the key.

[17:37:19.952] SSM2 init

[17:37:20.096] SSM2 ECU ID is 450A364006

[17:37:20.180] Requesting Seed...

[17:37:20.223] Sending Key [1]...

[17:37:20.868] interface close

[17:37:20.868] interface close

I have seen mention that this may mean the ECU is locked, how would i see if this is the case?

Any trouble shooting tips welcome as well.

I have connected the green test mode plugs, mine seem to be in the drivers side A pillar foot well and were already connected from when i bought the car until i checked them this week.

Thanks

The green test mode / flash connector will be on the left side footwell 'JDM Passenger footwell.' When connected and you turn the ignition on, you will hear the fans and solenoid cycling. This is how you know you have the correct plugs connected. Also, be mindful of your battery voltage. It may close the interface if the voltage is below 12v. Ensure that lights, etc., are off, and sometimes, it pays to connect a battery charger."

oh & sorry I meant behind the Kick Panel set : these are the Key Fob teacher set, yeah on older models they are white & green though didn't think ODBII stuff still had them?

I havnt seen under a Legacy Dash is about 10 years now sorry for meddling 😎

All good, no apology needed. Will check the suggestions today and let you know how it goes.
kinda makes sense that there might be two sets of plugs if you make the harness for multiple markets.

OK, so i needed to have both sets of green plugs connected.

The set in the drivers A Pillar and the set in the passenger foot well that were tucked in under the ecu bracket under the carpet.

I downloaded the image and had to make my own def file in rom raider to be able to read it.

Thanks for the pointers on where the plugs are.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
