4 plug wrx ecu into legacy gt?

Is there anything you need to do to run a v2 wrx sti ecu in a gt wagon? They're both four plug

AFAIK you just plug it in and it works.

uummm maybe after changing about 80% of the pins around

Search for ReubenH's Single Turbo thread and there's an ecu pinout of both the 4-plug WRX and 4-plug Legacy in there and from that you can work out which pins to swap around.

It's a biiiig re-pinning job. I'm considering making an adaptor to sell.

It's such a pain, i'd do just as much work and convert to 3-plug while i was at it, it's what we did to ash's car. You can run forrester ECU's till you sus out the injecotrs, afm and maf sensor, then you can upgrade to STi with no hassle.

Interesting. I was under the impression they were identical apart from the intercooler pump stuff.

Which year ruebs? as the foz ecu is the same as v3/4 sti 97/98 stb forester.

Good point, I was assuming it was a twin turbo GT.

The single Turbo ones are nearly identical.

As hes got a BF5 im guessing hes talking about the single turbos. In which case i think the ECU's are about identical. Which begs the question - what do you gain from changing?

well the sti ecu with the inj,afm,would in real world make you more power for the single and allow for more boost.

The foz standard ecu would not gain much if any. :-\

If its a BF5 then just chip the ECU. Will run 15psi, better timing maps etc and no speed cut and raised boostcut.

Unless you've gotten the STI ECU for next to nothing so may as well chuck it in.

And itsgogo, you're right, face lift manual TT's (the 3-plug tt's) have nearly identical pinouts to single turbo 3-plugs, ie, fozzies, wrx's, and STi's alike.

In that case, yes it plugs straight in.

You have already been given the best advice, if you have the ECU then plug it in; if not then your money would be better spent on a suitable Chip/Board.
