v2 sti nearly stalling when pulling up to stop

hey guys/gals

Got a v2 sti just pod/blow off valve as mods. When i goto stop the revs drop pretty much 0 and nearly stalls but goes back to normal idle. Only seems to do it once the motor is upto temp apart from that its running sweet.

I cant see any broken pipes or hear any air leaks

If anyone had similar problem or got any ideas just chuck them out there :D

cheers

Still did it with the factory blow off valve. I took off the pod and put on the factory box took it for a big drive and it didnt do it once ?

So dunno whats going on there might pay to leave the factory cold air box on. Could of been a leak somewhere will see how it goes.

cheers

my sti v3 does that, basically slow down and it drops the revs right down when idling after it has warmed up. Almost zero but never stalls itself.... yet....

have no mods apart from a upgraded panel filter, but even before that it still did it...

might be a leak somewhere but other wise maybe its just normal?

Or you could clean your idle speed controller....

+1 for that, mine was "hunting" at idle really bad, tried changing back to factory airbox/bov etc nothing worked, then went to repco and got a can of special cleaning stuff, sorry forgot what it was called, and cleaned inside the idle speed controller and shes good as new......

  • 1 month later...

Having this problem my self on my v3 sti, stalled a couple of times after a lot of boosting and coming to a stop. have a 50/50 blow off valve and standard air box and it still does it, should try plumming blow off valve fully back but haven't yet.

haven't tried cleaning idle sensor yet, shouldn't be any leaks as i just got engine fully rebuilt and it did this before i got the engine rebuilt aswell.

somebody said that it my be also to do with boost solenoid or getting too much air in fuel line when i boost then this causes is it to stall when i boost alot?

any thoughts on that? cheers.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
