SYMS Racing exhaust manifold

Hey everyone,

I have a wrx sti v6 and has SYMS racing manifold, up pipe and downpipe(siamese).

Anyone know any info about these? Anyone know any gains from these? The downpipe also still has a cat? Keen to know about this brand.

I had some syms adjustable suspension and couldn't find anything on them either, i think they are a very Japanese thing, if you know someone who can decipher Japanese you might be able to find some more info.

i did some research with PB motorsport earlier this year. i had the understanding my extractors were a PB wrc spec. But the guy at PB said they were genuine syms and were approx $3-4k new and syms were the ones they used on the early wrc cars. freeflowing small S/S tubes.

I now have twin scroll s/s headers which are better still. extra 15kw atw without doing anything else.

Yeah my headers are twin tubes, very small piping. The downpipe is siamese but still have the cat. Should i replace this?

Have you changed your Turbocharger?

That's not a twin scroll.

What your describing is Equal length headers 4-2-1

Twin scroll would have duel up-pipe outlets shared on the same flange.

Put it this way; if you are still running the OE VF23 then it is most certainly not twin scroll.

correct.. for twin scroll the flange has two ports at the turbo end.

However.. it surely is unusual to have it 2->1 so far up the up pipe we must agree?

That sump and header setup is definitely twin scroll-type though. I have some of the factory TS-type headers in my garage, just need to find a twin scroll to single scroll adapter up-pipe to suit my TD05.

Was thinking that, seems a bit of work to fit Twin scroll headers; and would require a Turbocharger swap.

My headers look very identical to the ones in the pic that cornf3 posted up. My up pipe is also 2-1, one flange then separates into two. Cheers for all the in put.
