Where to buy helmet..

Looking to buy a helmet for racing.

Just wondering what people reccomend, and where is a good place to buy them?

Whatever fits best. If you are going to go racing, make sure the helmet is an approved standard. You'll need to check the rules of whoever is running your race, as some standards are not recognised by some people but are by others.

I got a brand new HJC helmet, Peter Snell standard approved (therefore accepted by MSNZ) for $110 from Red Baron in Auckland.

go to your motorcycle shop dude.. and pay attention to the standards on them as Simon says.

There is a post up in racing or legal from memory stating the required standards for track

for what it's worth, a nice Arai or Shoei will probably be far more comfortable- they have different shapes as well as sizes, to fit different people. not that many people spend enough time wearing a helmet in a car to care, unless you just happen to be The Stig.

I had a decent HJC helmet for a couple years, but earlier this year bought a nice Arai. never going back. very very comfortable.

if you really value your head and lets be real, its gotta be worth more than 200$ What you really want is a bell vortex 2 with the air bladder...

one of the nicest helmets i have ever worn...

some of the older ones have a reebok pump air bladder that you pump up once you put the helmet on.. makes for a really good fit

Get a snell tested helmet if you, the snell pass standard is way higher than the aus/nz one. Better protection for ya nut.
