Steering Vibrating..

I searched forum but couldn't find anything with similar symptoms,

Over 100km/h the steering starts to shake slightly, if I'm gripping the wheel tightly you don't feel it as much, but just normal grip you feel a sort of left to right shaking, slow down from 100 and it goes away, at first i thought it was just the rough country roads where I live, but was just on a smooth asphalt road and it still did it, any ideas what it could be?

The car is a 97 version 3 STi sedan

Could have thrown a weight, have a bent rim, or your tyre(s) is/are out of round (yeah those things can be 'buckled' as it were too).

Why didn't I think of wheel balance!

I'll get a alignment/balance done and see how that goes

can be anything from a tire weight fallen off to bulges in your tire (any of them

I had bad wobble from a bulge in my rear with bad feedback through that big round thing that makes me turn

I threw my wheel balance out after i took my old car for a play in the mud a couple of years ago. Bad wheel vibrations as soon as it went over 80kmh. turns out the mud deposits on the wheel threw off the balance
