Cheapest Place to get Springs Fitted

I'm planning on buying second hand lowering springs, so I'm looking for the best (cheapest) place to go to get them fitted (with wheel alignment) in Chch.

So far Mag and Turbo have given me the best price, although it's still more than I was hoping to spend.

Any suggestions?

in your own garage for the springs. . . how ever long it takes you and the beers you drink

Yeah I thought it would be better to leave it to someone who knows what they're doing... haha. I don't have a spring compressor or torque wrench either

spring compressors are $40 from ripco, and you dont need a torque wrench

i can tell you now, mag and turbo wont use a torque wrench.

need a power bar comes in most 1/2" socket sets, someone in chch will know what to do

in chch, they will have them cut and held in with cable ties in about an hour, no need for new springs,

only have to jack it up and take the wheel off to get the grinder in there

Just realised I don't have any jack stands either (thought dad had some), so it will probably be easier and not much more expensive to pay someone else to do it.

Would it be easier to fit struts with the springs already on them?

I'm looking at buying Drunkenmonkey's KYB shocks and lowering springs for my leggy but being at uni this year I'm trying to be a bit more careful with my $$$ haha

if your trying to be careful with $$ then do it yourself - yup fitting complete set is easier - you dont need axle stands if you just jack it up

well it would be easyier, no having to remove the spring from the strut.

just 5ish bolts on each corner and your done.

if you did this, buy the jack stands and do it yourself, or go to your local mechanic

rather easy 5 bolts and they pop out

just use some blocks instead of axle stands... if your fitting lowered springs yopu will need to lever the lower arm up into place to line up with the strut and could fall on you head. :-\

lol well yeah if you're getting all four done it's significantly cheaper to buy the gear and do it yourself. And then if you ever need to do it again...
