does it matter which rail the factory FPR is run on in a split rail setup?

The RS runs 2 right hand rails each with a FPR.

I need to drop the FPR on the drivers side to create a bit of space (about 15mm) for a turbo that's been rotated 180 degrees. Will just use a left hand rail with no FPR

Any problems running only 1x FPR........and on the passengers side?

I know factory they only come with 1 FPR anyway but it's usually on the drivers side............does it matter that the FPR will be on passenger side?

As its a split rail, i believe you need a FPR on both rails. The only reason you can get away with one on the factory setup is because both rails are linked.

There shouldnt be much problem. Although youd loose the benifit of the split rail. Have you thought about getting an aftermarket fpr?

isnt he just talking about hooking them up in factory sequence, but everything on the other side?

i believe you can set up a system to run a split rail with one reg...

The fpr would have to be detatched from the rail would it not?

just to clarify.......yes I want to retain the split rail setup but run the FPR on the passenger side rail.............not the drivers side. Is this possible?

yep thought about that if I can't get away with running the FPR on the passenger side in a split rail setup

yer i think they do detach it.. i have seen it plumbed...

joe - you need both it the fpr is still attached to the rail..

I still say no. Unless you move to an aftermarket regulator.

If you wanted to use the factory fpr, take it off the rail and replace both rails with left hand rails. You'd then need to mod the fpr so it has a slip on fitting and then you can set it up like an aftermarket fpr.

It can be done, but aftermarket would be alot easier and youd have the added bonus of being adjustable.

i run split parallel with a single factory reg. on original rails.. some braising is involved and the fpr is mounted off the rail to keep everything even.

Same with mine. Remote mounted factory reg.

Ah didnt think of remote mounting the factory one. Hell i dont even know where the FPR is on my car

I just use one factory FPR, its simple as, just placed in the return line, x2 hose clamps, done.
