  9. I could be talking out my arse on this one but I seem to recall an issue where the coil packs crack, then when they get hot they short to the manifold so you lose spark on intermittent cylinders at random. EDIT: Misfire and blowing heaps of smoke, to me, is probably a spark issue. If it was a fuel issue (other than maybe way too much fuel?) it wouldn't smoke.

  12. Technically it will need cert yes, but we have seen them on a number of cars that do not have cert plus they are black to decrease visability. These have also been developed by us to fit both Subaru 2 pots and Brembo 2 pots, and won't vibrate on the backing plate of gen 3/4 Legacys as a lot of other adapters do.

  13. So final output. High Boost 22psi: 247kW 902Nm Low Boost 14psi; 201kW 773Nm Not sure how to convert torque figures. Spools up around the 3500 mark and full boost around 4250RPM. Holds boost till redline; doesn't taper off. Restrictive components in my car - exhaust not being 3" and TMIC. I'd probably move onto aesthetics side of things now and buy another project car; thinking of a MK1 mx5 or a DC2R/CL7R.

  14. Jeeeeeeeezus a 2003 is still worth that money? They were in that ballpark when I bought my V7 7 years or so ago... If I were you I would sell your massively over-valued car ASAP before the market works out that they're not worth that much.

  15. My father bought a GF8 WRX NZ new in 2000, only thing that has gone wrong with it in 17 years is the plastic radiator header tank thing needed replacing. Its been up ski roads, driven hard, towed stuff, its still on the original clutch 250,000K's later! I've no doubt if you looked after a WRX correctly you could easily reach 1,000,000K's without replacing any major components, interior will fall apart before the engine.

  16. Productive weekend... Cleaned up surface rust and painted some sedan rear lateral links ready to put into my wagon. Installed a beefier pitch stop mount to complement the gearbox mount in the wagon. On the gc8 I sorted out the passenger rocker cover gasket and degreased the whole bottom and back of the motor (That's all of the leaks fixed! at least for now). Then I put some new to me 16*7 wheels/tyres on and fixed an exhaust leak ready for a WOF on Tuesday. I also installed a Cusco lower arm brace on the gc thanks to @Kiwiflyboy. I'm loving how far this thing has come now after a LOT of TLC.
