  1. pretty sure youll have to modify it as the electronics will be set up for an airbag. Also if your car has got an airbag, and you want to remove it, you have to get the car certed for that "modification"! http://www.lvvta.org.nz/knowledge_base.html#steering The SRS airbag system has to be disabled and a whole load of other stuff to make the car safe (like will the belt pretensioners still fire with the airbag system disabled etc) its up to you if its worth it. I previously installed a STi Nardi into my BF5, and its a nice wheel, but dunno if its THAT nice
  2. I had it done to mine, used a sharp knife and cut the silicon that held the square cap on and theres the connector pins right in front of you going right to the circuit board. A couple of mine had cracks in the solder, so I had someone re solder them as at the time I didnt know just how easy soldering was. Then RTV'd the cap back on and its still in the car now!
  3. in the past 6 months I have bought two different sets of 205/50/16 tyres. While they're rarer then they once were theyre still about. If you want cheap, try finding someone who does Falken. The suppliers are clearing through old stock of the FK452 cheap, and its a real good tyre.
  4. There is a valve in the line. Looks like a small cylinder with barbed hose ends. It's a ball held in place by a spring. With age the spring goes to **** and so releases at a lower pressure. You can buy them. IIRC I got a replacement for mine from Davies via Repco. Or you can scavenge one from pic a part but they'll most likely be **** as well
  5. Mine from Hampton Downs Playday on Track a while ago, cheers Invisible for the photos
  6. if its just the joints themselves then you don't have to replace the whole shaft. Theres 2 cvs per shaft and its rare they both go, so you would be throwing a perfectly good cv away. What makes you think its the inside ones?
  7. Are they the same as turbo axles? I would think they probably are. I know that you can buy those at you're local repco store as I fitted two of them to my Legacy (cbf replacing the outer cv joint ) The ones I've got fitted everything from my old gen 1 wagon thru to the 3rd gen, they even fitted my GC8! They come with abs rings but it doesn't matter if you have ABS or not.
  8. Also have you reset the ecu after you replaced the IACV? The ecu will have compensated for it, and will take ages to relearn if just left.
  9. Theres a switch on the passenger side of the gearbox. try disconnecting it and see if they shut off. Then unscrew switch and clean the **** outta it. They fill with oil over time and can fail.
  10. judging by the pillars and headlights it is a Fiat X1/9
  11. its a card reader for the the toll roads, usually accompanied by a little plastic square on the dash by the windscreen vents Be thankful you dont have one that asks you in Japanese to insert a card every time you turn on the car!
  12. Jeez! Ive scoured all the coast in the North Shore and cant find that place! The places I've found are either too far away from the island or not enclosed enough. Might have to leave this one for now nad come back to it!
  13. What you can do is remove the bulb from the Lamco gauges, so you can either make the bulb green by putting a green cover on it off of a different light, or the way I did and buy a green sharpie and colour it in
  14. I cant say I have heard of it, but usually the two bolts that attach the bottom of the glovebox to the rail are slotted. Try loosening them a tad and moving the whole unit upward.
  15. Went to change the plugs as its time and its stuttering under boost, took the coils off and..... F**K! DOUBLE F**K How do three of them break like that anyhow
  16. Nope, people still ask though http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?32284-gull-98-octane-fuel&p=440074&viewfull=1#post440074
  17. If the people who make the fuel and the people who make the car both say to not use it, then that's good enough for me Pretty sure they know better then any other source
  18. is the rack the original one? A BF5 Legacy would come with speed sensitive steering, so maybe its giving an error as it cant sense the rack
  19. Alright guys and girls, if your gonna get it done make it snappy because I have half done! Gotta figure a new place however!! The Esplanade, Campbells Bay
  20. a GTB is a GT with bilstein suspension in the 2nd and 3rd gen wagons. A blitzen is a special edition of the 3rd gen wagon or sedan that came with custom bumpers and a nicer interior Two very different things. If you wanna check if it still has the bilstein struts, have a look underneath. The struts should be yellow.
  21. Its a good thing noone took a video...... ......Oh wait!!! *ehehehehe*
  22. It will be the reverse light switch. Mine got worse and worse til I could only get it to work some of the time if I held it. Its a common problem, and really easy to fix. What happens is that the switch itself fills up with gearbox oil and stops contacting. All you need to fix it is a jack, some brake cleaner and a spanner. Jack the passenger side, look at the side of the gearbox and figure out which of the two switches is the reverse light switch ( I got a diagram from opposed forces to find mine) undo the connector, unscrew the switch and then with it in your hand operate the switch while you spray the sucker full of brake cleaner til no more comes out. There will be LOADS in there. Once you have no more evidence of oil coming out let it dry, and reinstall it. You now have reverse lights.
  23. Well I was up there yesterday too new one
