  1. Your local subaru dealer can get hold of parts like that, just need the cars model code. If not in stock they can take a few weeks from japan but not as expensive as you\'d think. Got all my fromt bumper ones replaced for 18 bucks so not too bad, probably do in sets of 10 or something like that though.
  2. i wish there was a way to unsee that car...
  3. Tried but never got it too work. Mine had a damaged casing I was going to fix so I had alot more space to get in behind than you\'d normally have due to the case having snapped mounts but still couldn\'t get it out . Its prob one of those things where it only needed a tad more force to pop it out but since my glass was still fine I didn\'t want to try too hard and snap the glass. Whereas your glass is already damaged so you got nothing to lose
  4. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,34323.0.html
  5. Only got 130k on the B4 and highly doubt theres another 50k in it
  6. Na allignment should be sweet as it was done less than 1000k ago. Might check out cv\'s though as i got a mechanic to change a torn boot and i\'m not convinced he actually checked whether there was any damage before chucking more grease in and new boot
  7. should power steering ever be affected by braking? i\'ve started noticing recently that if i brake late into a sharp corner the steering gets considerably heavier, don\'t really want to go vac leak hunting if i don\'t have to
  8. Yea mines at round 2600rpm, bit of a PITA if you ask me, sits right where the primary starts spooling so any more than feather light acceleration stuffs any chance of good economy. Irrelevant if the box is going into a NA though.
  9. mine had a similar feeling when the cv boot was torn and lost all the grease and was kinda gripping
  10. Yea just feel round the front till you\'re near one of the connecting pieces and yank the hell out of it. I thought i was breaking mine the first time i did it but its just a really tight clip. There\'s two of those and just push it toward the rear to hook the back in.
  11. Yea bayfair\'s fecking terrible. Had some low life break into the work van with a camera less than 10m away and it still couldn\'t get a half arse pic of them, just lucky they couldn\'t tell the expensive stuff from the cheap and only ended up getting a couple of hundred worth
  12. Check the applied model on the vin plate will be be5/bh5 and the next digit is the rev number. Mines a rev c so its be5c. Or if its got the facelifted headlights its rev d
  13. Unless you have people in the back alot of the time i wouldn\'t even bother with rears, just put some good components and a 8 inch in and it sounds worlds better, mine did have some bottom rung pioneer speakers in the back that the last guy put in which i just run off the headunit with the volume set a bit lower just for a more surround feel. Thought about dynamat to get a little bit more out of them but decided it wasn\'t really worth it on an 7-8 grand car
  14. Mines an absolute shocker when cold, doesn\'t help that there\'s a pretty big hill i have to go up just as i turn out of my road that basically prevents any chance of feather light acceleration until its warmed up. So now i have the fun of starting her up and sitting there for 5mins to warm up a bit before tackling the hill Should probably check what filter i\'ve got in mine, the cheeky mechanic went and changed mine last time, went in for a cv got the wrong one changed and an air filter changed without checking with me first . go figure... In my days of despair (trying to fix every little problem under the sun) i\'ve come extremely close to walking into the bank and getting a sizeable loan for a newer and better legacy, TT\'s are engineering masterpieces, well sort of , but the complexity is just a nightmare
  15. Assume you haven\'t installed a new amp or speakers? I had this problem a few weeks ago, was completely convinced it was the alternator but turned out to be speaker interference. Try having someone hold the accelerator down until you hear the whine and put your ear to each speaker and you may hear it from there, didn\'t work for me so i just unplugged all the speakers which stopped the noise and put them back in one by one until the noise started again. a poor connection could be the cause of the interference too if speakers haven\'t been changed. @we are borg: in what way would a condenser cause this problem? just curious as i\'ve never heard of that before
  16. You\'re probably better off just going to a wreckers and ripping one off a car there. Unless you want to try fix it yourself paying anyone to look will end up more than a replacement. I doubt that generation had auto folding so when you say ticking you mean when doing the glass/mirror adjusting
  17. mines sitting at 330mm, but on a slight decline on the driveway so probably closer to 340mm when on flat. Can give it a measure up on flat later on when i go out if no one else bothers to measure theirs.
  18. I can be a bit pedantic at times but its always annoyed me that the back sits slightly lower than the rear, i\'d always thought they were just off a sti and diff weight distribution on sti to legacy meant they weren\'t quite sprung right
  19. Yes. Think of it like a river, a small river can be eroding the sides at the same rate as a much larger river but the larger river will flow alot more water. PSI is the basically the force the air creates on the things around it (the force that the river pushes on the sides). As a turbo gets bigger it can push a larger volume of air through (lb/min) while exerting the same force on other components. This is just a basic rule of thumb though there are many other factors like piping that\'ll need to be accounted for to get more air into the cylinder, most modest increases shouldn\'t be a problem though. Hope that makes sense, the concept used to do my head in a bit but it all makes sense now
  20. Finally got a result! Pulled the left door card off to get closer to the speaker and Found the sound is coming through the front door speakers. so plan is to run the wiring further away from the amp power and hopfully that fixes it.
  21. Yea starting to think i may do the same next time..
  22. Amp ground wire had a slightly loose crimp so redid that crimp. Hasn\'t made any difference to the noise. Next step will be trying it running with one speaker running at a time as i can\'t really hear it through them when driving
  23. Na rca\'s run down the driver side and amp power down the passenger side
  24. same tinting as the 3rd gen is all it really needs, the B4 tinting makes the rear end look a million times better, i cringe every time i see pics of an american non tinted one
