No spark after rebuild

my car has just been top to bottem rebuilt..it came the day today to start it and there is zero spark!! there is power going to the ecu but not coming out

i have a power fc..which was working perfectly 2 months ago when it went in and was brought brand new just ova a year ago!

immobiliser maybe???

was it just a rebuild or have u changed parts from diff models

If the ECU's getting power but it's not putting anything out the ignition signal wires then it probably doesn't have the crank/cam sensor data it needs .. might be worth checking anyway.

crank cam sensor has been checked! no nothing has changed in the car crank speed is fine it just wont fire over auto sparky was in did a quick check power is getting to the ecu its just not coming out

powers not coming out of the ecu? or not out of the coilpacks?

im not sure iv spoke to the mechanic he said he tested it the ecu is getting the signals but theres no signal coming out of the ecu

which is y im thinking immobiliser isnt hookd up or smthing along those lines

i dont think the ecu would be fried it went in perfect

so your car has run on this fower fc before you did the rebuild. umm when you turn the key on to start does it come up with all the dash lights like engine check ect?

take the computor out and send to anything electronic in nelson.. they dont charge if theres nothing wrong... good c.nts thats after you go through all the plugs etc

Is there power to coil and injectors ?

They are NOT fed power from ECU

Most of ECU fuction is to provide earth various compnents

Check main ECU earth on rear of manifold

Check Cam and front Injector plug on passnegers side, seen a couple no starts due to this around the wrong way

Do you have CEL operation? ie on with key.. If so any codes in memory with diag check?

Does fuel pump prime? does fuel pump run during cranking?

Yeah i was gonna say Earth too. Easiest way to tell is if you have fuel pressure.

i havnt actually been out to my car as its about an hour away i just got a call today to say he cnt get the car to turn over hes checked the basics even had an auto sparky in but he was just checking power to the ecu!

il call him first thing give him those ideas!!

all this money i thought id finally get my car back now im scared my ecu has gone...even tho it went in perfectly going..yup power fc has even had 2 tunes

Don't stress

If ECU ran before it will run now, you have prob a much better chance of winning Lotto as the chance that your ECU died between removal and refit of your engine

Best get your mechanic to ring me !! Need better info than that, ie do the Inj have power? are they get an earth pulse from ECU ?

Otherwise this could take months to fix !!

The ECU went into a safe mode! plug the laptop in remove it and it started right up!! still needed a retune
