Would you drive this on Akatarawa Road?

I think that Nav device manufacturers should maybe have an option for larger vehicles so that they can avoid these sort of roads,I do know this road and would never consider taking a bus over it but if u were following a Nav and did not know the area then you could so easily follow it,

when I send a driver off with the navman I always pre load the route and check it on google maps,re roads suitability,one way roads and things like that,I turn the settings to main roads only

a very brief look at a map would have shown this road to be unsuitable. The first half is ok, but then it gets very very tight. a really small bus would be ok probably, but not a proper one.

Thing is, that road is set as a state-highway, albeit a very minor one. The software makers have had to downgrade the road to something very minor so it's not picked up by that setting.

If you need to use a sat nav you probably shouldnt be on the road....

Yes the infamous Akatara, nice and tight, definitly not for the light hearted, a road to test your skills and nerves, I love it

Just like the Paekakariki Road down there aswell. :
