Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there is a thread about everyones dyno readings and what the had to do to get there.

I have a wrx and have just got a link g4....getting installed late next month and wondering if i need put larger injectors/fuel pump and reg to hit the 200kwatw mark? i have since done dumppipe and rest of exahaust but have not noticed and real increase in power.

previosly i ran 170kw atw with fmic, pod, external wastegate set to 11 psi, everthing else factory inc exhaust/turbo Td04/inj etc,

what is the tried and tested method of extracting power from the ej20's?

apologies if this thread exists elsewhere.

Yeah we had a thread with peoples results even had a competition thread going too from memory with the best from all subaru models until the website disappeared into the black hole,

could be on someones to do list to get it back and going again.

Factory Yellow 440cc injectors will max out around the 200-210kw mark, you'll definatly need a fuel pump just to be safe (careful about buying a fake walbro from trade me).

You should maybe research parallel fuel rail mods, some people say its a must, others say factory setup is fine for 200kw.

please dont burn me... but i have done,

* full exhaust, with 3inch front pipe

* new intake from the turbo under the manifold.

* link G3

* bigger 550cc injectors (realy just for safety)

* new walbro fuel pump (again safety, no direct kw gain)

* split fuel rail (for safety)

*oil cooler and remote filter (safety)

This setup runs a VF23 and stil has the TMIC, and should have been good for about 200-205. Turns out it ran 160 coz my cam belt had jumped. Engine is currently out and problems fixed

and also a new:

*up pipe

*headers

are going in, so i should be good for 210-220+ now

This all depends of the amount of boost your are running. I'm looking at about 16-18psi. This also depends on the age of your engine as well.

as i found out, individual results will always vary, lists of mods can give you a general idea for what you might expect.

I'd be surprised that your td'04 would take you all the way to 200kw, but i could be wrong. Be aware also that the WRX block generally cant take as much of a beating as the STI block, which i suspect yours is.

I think mine should be about 200kw atw (yet to be dynod), got tdo5 & yellows, link, 3" turbo back, front mount, fuel pump, forgeys, compression of 8.5-1

wastegate normally holds boost at 19 then drops off to 16, but i put a boost tap in and running about 15psi

Firstly a TD04 will not get you anywhere near 200kw@wheels.

The differences between an STI block and a WRX block of the same era is negligible in terms of outright strength.

I've seen open-deck blocks make over 200kw@wheels and up to 250kw@wheels.

Your will need larger fuel pump/injectors your standard regulator will be fine.

Lastly you will need a new turbo, there's many bolt on VF series turbo's to net that power at wheels.

Agreed.

Fuel up, bigger turb, flow it and youll be right. Even sti pistons etc wont last long but itll haul. And maybe a decent clutch. Autoclutch or summin similar.

righto...looks like i will be needing some more mods....best bet for turbo? in other threads Tdo5 are recommended as best bang for buck but will it get me over the 200kw mark? Prefer not to have to upgrade turbo to many times as would rather twisted turbo a good setup right from the start? I don't mind spending the moneys if i have too! Advice please

Word.

you need to ditch the td04 to make the numbers required. Id agree to disagree and vote you go to the td05, as a pose to the vf series for the rebuild factor.

td05, link, yellow 440s and walbro is a tried and proven combo for 200kws.

how well your block lasts could be up to luck!

there is lots of school of thought as to whether a VF series 22/23/30/36/38 or a TDO5 or a TD05/06 combo or a modified VF series..

each to there own in the end.. you will get a swag on either side and then those that say go for something like a Garrett or other aftermarket each with valid opinions

go to an engine builder and nut it out. (currently what im doing as my engine is poked) I would recommend Ichi ban (on the forums here) and they will give you there opinion and match a turbo to your engine and and driving requirements.

I wont post my own thoughts.. :D prefer to sit on the fence for this one. Im happy to PM you my thoughts if you like dubbedup, these are only IMO as most other posts in here.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
