if your buying a new clutch, go for the 230mm. as the pressure plate will be the same, just the clutch plate would be different id assume.

throwin it out there 9 inches - yup some things occasionally cross over

why would a japanese clutch manufacturer make an imperial sized clutch for a japanese vehicle?

why would a japanese clutch manufacturer make an imperial sized clutch for a japanese vehicle?

throwing this out there on basis of pure speculation:

Because it could have something to do with history of a part i.e. they could have used an existing product designated for an american car...

also, my clutch only lasted 20,000km, so am thinking a new pressure plate and bearings

wouldn't be required???

What brand clutch did you fit?

It was a genuine subaru clutch. It lasted for 4 years of racing abuse so not complaining

about 20,000km, just wondering if the pressure plate would still be okay.

its good practise since your already got gearbox off to change the throwout bearing, the pressure plate should be ok to use just get it checked over and just get matching clutch plate for it

yeah bearing should be changed I guess... do subarus have the spigot bearing as well...

clutch kits only seem to come with the throwout bearing.

i wouldnt use a pressure plate again. they get high spots like a flywheel and can cause it to shudder. Also the fingers loose their tension and then your clutch will slip. for the extra 200 bucks, i would just replace the lot.

Exedy is factory fitted.

I see you already have, but spend a bit on TM. I found one for $200.

OEM and Exedy are the same units, but have found the clutch plate to made of a different material for OEM

OEM clutch is good for 240+Kw - Proven

I'm guessing the Exedy HD pressure plate is waste of money then... or are there benefits for extremely aggressive driving conditions?

That's about as far as I would go for a factory 5MT.

I had one in my previous Subaru, Quite a severe clamp.

I'd rather protect the transmission. Although I fitted an OE exedy this time round that had the cover had been modified by Autoclutch.

OEM clutch kit at the Wellington dealer $860 retail.

OEM clutch kit at AK dealer, $750 on trademe.

Neither of the those prices include spigot bearing, grease or alignment tool.

Exedy OEM replacement kit at repco $645.

Exedy OEM replacement kit at japrace.co.nz $485.

Exedy kit includes grease, spigot bearing and alignment tool.

crazy differences in price.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
