Contradicting what? that others thought that 0.56 cents per litre was actually half a cent per litre...i was being a smart ass!!

maybe reading all the posts before piping up might help :P;)

.56 cents per litre DOES mean about 1/2 a cent per litre. so does .47 the change is still ROUGHLY half a cent, per litre. not 5 cents. you can't just move it a decimal place because you only remember $1.74 as the price. it might actually be $1.7375 but you pay $1.74 the oil companies, however, deal in MILLIONS of litres, so those tenths of a cent end up being quite a bit of money.

Sorry but you are wrong 0.56 cents per litre does not equate to half a cent per litre but in fact 56 cents... remember primary school, ones, tens, thousands so 1.00=1 dollar.. 0.50=50 cents..0.05=5 cents! see acc's website for correct levies: http://www.acc.co.nz/for-business/levy-consultation/current-levy-consultation/BUS00113

OMFG see how the decimal 0.56 CENTS per litre, has CENTS following it? This sets the unit your dealing with. 1.00 only equals $1 when followed by 1.00 dollars. Because the 0.56 is followed by CENTS it means that CENTS is the unit. If you move the decimal place 2 points to the left you will convert it to dollars eg, $0.0056.

Did you fail primary school maths? you know the kind with the abacus, and the ones, tens, and hundreds plastic blocks?

ACC proposes:

* increasing the combined average motor vehicle levy from $254.63 to $287.00 per vehicle

* increasing the petrol levy for 2009/2010 from 9.43 to 9.90 cents per litre and increasing the average licensing fee per petrol vehicle to $168.45, resulting in a combined average levy rate of $287.00 per petrol vehicle

Quite clearly only 0.47 CENTS per litre OR $0.0047 per litre. (see how i did that? moved the decimal place to convert units from cents to dollars?)

Have a look up on you-tube for Verizon maths fail. Exactly the same situation but with with broadband billing. Basic in-ability to convert units from cents to dollars.

Either way its only around 5 cents per litre and not 56 cents as originally thought with the 0.56 call...maths is not a great deal and we are not on a maths forum but remember anything left of the decimal is dollars!!

$1123.56= 1 thousand,1 hundred, twenty, three dollars DECIMAL POINT 56 cents

cliff. give up, you still don't get it at all.

I truly dont see it!!, i'm no maths wizz but have passed maths up to maths 160 level....

Like i said either way it's only around 5 cent per litre...no biggie really!!

As far as i can see $0.56 does equal 56 cents which is not even the correct levy which is 4.7 cents or $0.047....as far as i can see....

Lets wait for the accountants and see if they can correct us...

Oh and Joker i would assume half a cent would be $0.005...but again i could be wrong

Who cares!! either way its only 5 cents per litre not half a cent nor 50 cents that were mentioned in earlier posts >:(

It's not 5 cents per litre cliff. It is half a cent per litre.

yes so by logic (slow down and read the theory)

0.5 (1/2) a cent = 0.005 Dollars - its unit dependent

0.5 millimeters = 0.005 centimeters etc

lets just face it over a tank of gas it will be like what.. 25c? :)

Correct, at most about 25 - 30 cents per tank of gas. (or for cliff's benefit $0.25 - $0.30 per tank)

**facepalm's @ maths fail**

Cliff, the increase is from 9.43 to 9.90 cents per litre. The unit in this case is cents. The increase is less than one whole unit (remember the unit is cents), only 0.47 of a unit, or 0.47 of a cent, or 0.0047 of a dollar.

And cliff, if you want to pay with a million dollar bill (denoting a million dollar bill as $M), you'll be getting $M0.00000000025 less change per tank.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
