For factory tinted glass, there should be an "OK" sign stating it's factory. At least on my wrx anyways. Got pulled over by a cop wanting to find a fault with the tints. And when he saw the "OK" logo, he let it slip.

WTF is THAT what the OK SUBARU thing is?

Yeah small mechanical workshops are the key.

VTNZ failed my GF's car for rear brake balance... we got it adjusted, took it back and they said it was worse, but the front was better? WTF...

Took it some place that doesn't have a w*nked out rolling road for brake balance... passed first go. Stupid...

Haha happened to me too. Never going back to VTNZ again. They're just out to get modified vehicles I rekon.

Both my Type R Honda's have failed on factory tinted glass, as well as my old GTB. Funny thing is that they pass compliance like that, which is a lot more thorough than a WOF.

Its just someone who is not doing his job properly.

i.e. Glass is dark, check to see if:

a) Tints

b) Privacy glass - Factory

c) combo

d) aaaahhhh Dddduuuuh FAIL IT...

So they choose (d)...

I had the same problem with my b4 went to VTNZ and they failed it 28% told me to remove it and come back.

Instead took it to my local garage and passed. Every time ive gone to a VTNZ with they always come up with do problem to fail it on, fact is the hate "boy racer" cars and you can argue till your blue in the face but they will just quote the rules straight form the book.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey guys,

Update here, I finally got around to going somewhere else for a warrant, the guy didn't have the laser pointer he had a card and held it up inside the window and could still see the 35% writing on it and he was happy as to pass that.

He then asked me to replace the windscreen wipers which were getting tatty that VTNZ missed! haha

Happy to fix up things that really ARE safety issues eh!

Thanks for all the advice.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
