hey people, after opinions... is this definetly going to be written off when insurance company sees it? gutted coz i just put brand new $1000 tyres on 1 week ago, good vf22, and other parts i dont wanna lose

thinking up options atm

1) take money ($8K minus excess of over 1000), insurance company takes car.

2) take payout, and buy car back from them, put engine gearbox fmic axles diffs brakes gauges seats etc into another suby thats run a bigend or similar.

3) dont get paid out and do the same.

short story ... lost it backwards into a concrete median barrier. gutted az, just had it looking sooo clean and sexy!! and running quick. would prefer its written off as would never be the same again and resale value would be affected alot id say

was planning on doing all the conversion myself over time.

Similar thing happened to one of my brothers friends, turned out that any un-declared mods wernt covered by his insurence, and as such he had the right to remove them from the totaled vehicle as insurence had no stake in them. Not sure if this is true with your insurence company, but might be a way to retain your frount mount and other goodies.

un-declared mods usually means they have the right to decline your claim especially to a heavily modded car?? so they usually laugh at you and give your car back...not to mention take away your no claims bonus even tho the claim was declined bagtards.

Yip undeclared mods normally mean good bye any insurance cover, and you get the car back bent, with no insurance.

Well done going backwards into a concrete wall, you must have been doing the speed limit for that to happen : but that will probably mean they wont pay out anyway. Did the cops do you for reckless driving or whatever it is?

mate had the same thing happen 2 him,got rear ended and was writen off he got payed out and offered the car back from turners for $500 and then he sold it for $1500, was a jdm wrx think he only got 7g from insurance

You might have to check with your insurance company, but I'm pretty sure that means "no cover"...

I got diversion when i crashed but I was told by NAC with a careless driving I still had cover. I think its only if alcohol or drugs are involved they refuse you cover isnt it???

My understanding also is if you damage anyones elses property in anymore than a fender bender you usualy get a careless driving charge so its clean cut for the insurance companys who is in the wrong.

Dont take that as gospel just my understanding from my time through the process and what NAC reps and cops told me.

You should be able to get it back, cut the deal as part of the write off, with the insurance company, before the auction part... there no guarantee, if gets to the auction, you can buy it back.. you may have to bid for it..
