Outer brake lights

Hey guys, So I failed a WOF because my outer break lights are not working only the ones on the tailgate, does anyone know if this could just be a fuse or perhaps something more serious?

Take the bulbs out and see if they're blown

Probly the smartest place to start lol

ok so bulbs are fine and pulled all the fuses out to take a look and they are fine also, any ideas?

Ok will no way be a fuse as the inner lights and outer lights are on same fuse

How did u check the bulbs,Visual checks are not really good enough so either check using a multitester or with a battery and jump cables.

do u have power to the holders, use a test light and test this too

if no power start to work your way back till u find it.

hm starnge that its not a few or bulb.my reverse light dont work in my car but everthing else does.tried replacing the bulbs and fews and still cant figure out why.mayb try a test light on all your fuses

yeah just a visual test, thanks for the advice will do as much as I can myself before asking for help this weekend out at Bazza's olds place.

Check the plug /socket thingy itself for corrosion, use a wire brush to clean inside, then clean the bulb.

cheers but no corrosion anywhere going to grab a multi meter today and check if the socket is getting power to it etc, if no dice then I'll ask Jason very nicely if he can look at it this weekend

check the wire visual check - even if they aren't on a moving part then can rubb
